“The Real Housewives of Orange County” appeared on the first of two reunion shows on Wednesday, and, of course, we had to wade through the usual clip reel of lowlights from the season, and all the shouting and name-calling that prompted, before we got to the juicy stuff.
And by that, we mean, the bomb that Shannon Storms Beador dropped with laser-sighted precision atop Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s high ponytail as a cliffhanger at episode’s end.
“I didn’t know whether I was going to say this today,” Shannon began as if she’d ever really considered violating the First Commandment of Housewifery: If you think it, say it. “But as a mother, I’m going to.
“When my daughter Stella was 14 years old, at her very first beach barbecue, you went up to her and said, ‘Stella, if you want the good stuff, text me.’”
Judging by the gasps of jaded housewives, including Kelly Dodd, who literally shouted, “No,” then the unspecified “good stuff” was actually some kind of bad stuff. Carbs? It was unclear as the show ended there as Braunwyn burst into tears.
So, yes, you have to come back next week to find out, but it sounded bad, which was likely the point.
Just moments earlier, Braunwyn had been the sympathetic victim of an attack from Kelly as host Andy Cohen had addressed the storyline about her confronting her own drinking this season.
